
The African Methodist Episcopal Church is the oldest connectional Black Denomination. Its founder, Richard Allen, incorporated the Church on April 9, 1816.

The 13th Episcopal District encompasses all AME Churches in the states of Tennessee and Kentucky. Bishop Harry L. Seawright and Supervisor Rev. Sherita Moon Seawright preside over the district.

The South District is led by Presiding Elder Anica Howard. The footprint of the district stretches from Nashville to South-Columbia, Tennessee.
