About Allen

The Allen Chapel AME Church — a place “where it is easy to find God, and hard to forget him” — is one of the oldest churches in the city of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. It has been a transformative institution in the community for generations, ever evolving to meet the holistic needs of persons from all walks of life. One will find that Bethel is a diverse congregation, attracting individuals and families across socio-economic and educational spectrums.

The Sunday morning worship and learning experiences are insightful and engaging, richly flavored with elements of traditional and contemporary Christian culture. During the week, one can expect the friendly faces of Bethel to be actively engaged in a vast array of ministerial activities, from choir rehearsals and virtual leadership training sessions to neighborhood housing redevelopment projects. If you want to know more about Jesus Christ and His love in action for all people, there is a place for YOU at The Allen Chapel AME Church.
